I prepared this hub to provide a little bit of backgroud information about the Argenus Air Sanitizer. The Argenus, or Air Genius, is a new product by the Hunter Fan Company that promises to be scientifically proven to capture and kill germs, viruses, and bacteria for noticeably fresher and cleaner air.
The Argenus is a remarkable new appliance for helping to keep your family healthy. Unlike other air purifiers, this product purifies the air in your home by both capturing and killing airborne germs. Argenus grabs both large and small microscopic particles and germs using a combination of barrier filtration and electromagnetic attraction and claims to use a powerful force field of electrical energy to kill 99.97% of the germs, viruses and bacteria that it captures.
The Argenus website claims to kill many kinds of pathogens including:
- Bacteria
- Fungi
- Virus
- Endotoxins
The Argenus' large benefits to your family come in a very small dimensions of only 20" x 20" x 24" tall and weighing only about 35 pounds.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DO NOT BUY IT OVER THE PHONE, THEY WON'T TELL YOU THE WHOLE STORY, THE SMALL PRINT. First of all I ordered two units in February 2009. I only opened and used the first unit. I placed the unit in a central location of my 1800 SF ranch style house, with two low/non-shedding dogs and two cats. Then, After 5 1/2 months the red light came on, telling me I needed a new main filter. I called customer service and then gave me a number to technical/repairs. They told me to clean both filters thoroughly.BE AWARE:If you purchase these units and you are NOT HAPPY and decide to return them, YOU! HAVE TO PAY SHIPPING to return them and ONLY to a California address. They don't tell you that. It cost me over $60.00 to return a unit from Virginia to California.If you need a filter before 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL NOT GET ONE, until the full year comes around.ALSO, The FILTERS are from a separate company NOT Hunter Fan. THEY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR, They speak poor English and read word for word from a script. And they will, should you try to get answers that are not on their script, they will make up answers (lie) that are different from one sales person to the next; and they will hang up on you, when you bring that up.Hunter Fan really needs to address this issue and find a new partner. This experience has just astounded me. I thought the Hunter Fan Company could be trusted. I learned the hard way.I suggest you not buy a new expensive appliance over the phone. Do your homework thoroughly. If it is not in the store, DON'T BUY IT.
I purchased the Argenus after my apartment flooded. I helped me to be in there while I moved 1/30/09. I informed them of my move. In September they stopped taking out payments from the account. I got one phone call, where I updated my information with them again because I was in the proccess of another move in October. They gave me credit for one month and they were going to take a double payment, I never heard from them again. I called about a new filter and when I could expect it the customer service rep was rude and said that it would be in January it is now March and no replacement filter.
I bought this unit in April 2009. After 6 weeks our red light stayed on and I recieved great help. The people that I talked to on the phone were great and easy to understand. I was on hold for a while but after that I had no problems. We did not have to pay for return shipping. They emailed us the papers to take with us to give to the Fed Ex people to ship the unit back at their expense and within 2 weeks we had a new unit. We bought the lifetime warranty on ours. So we have no issues with their great service.
We have been very pleased with our unit. The noise level is very tolerable and this unit is amazing at getting the smallest dust particles out of the air. We have birds that have dusty dander and what an amazing job this does keeping our house clean. We just clean the filter and pop them back in. We highly recommend this product.
i purchased an air filter over a year ago on a 90 day trial basis that was returnable to be paid by the company. i was not satisfied with it when i called to ask for them to send me a shipping label they said they would. i did not get the label and they tried to start billing me for the machine.i cancelled my debit card and did not pay. a year later and i still have the machine sitting outside in my building collecting dust. 1 week ago i got a call from hunter fan company telling me they would send a fedex truck 4 days from them to pick it up if i left it on my front porch. no one showed. i called the company back from my caller id number they called me from and they tell me i purchased it of an infomercial and not them. i havent purchased it at all ive never paid. i saw the comercial on tv not an infomercial.after arguing for over 10 minutes on the phone and getting nowhere im still stuck with this no good piece of crap.well i guess i will see what happens over the next year. lol.
I WAS TOLD I WOOD GET FREE FILTER'S FOR LIVE WELL I CALL FOR ONE 2YEARS A GO DID NOT GET YET I PAID $25.00 SHIPING BUT HUNTER GAVE ME NOT A THING DONT BUY FROM THEM WAN YOU AER TALKING TO THEM TO BUY SOME THING THEY MAKE IT SOUND GOOD BUT THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THAT'S IT

this unit did not as good as in ifomrccial. return product. Still being charge for this item. Do not beleive Argenus management.
