Big Boss Grill Reviews
63I'm always a sucker to good infomercials. Today I watched a new show for the Big Boss Grill. Like all these as seen on tv products, I was very intrigued. I'll probably buy it and then I'll come back to this lens and report on how well it worked.
If you haven't seen the Big Boss Grill Infomercial yet, here's what it is: A food preparation grill that allows you to make healthy delicious meals in only minutes. Not only that but it can also be cleaned super easy and stores away without much space.
I hope I don't sound to much like one of those pitchmen :)
Anyways, I know that lots of people are probably wondering if the product works, so, if you have tried the Big Boss Grill, please go ahead and leave a comment at the bottom of this lens letting everybody know what you think about it. I'll try to do the same.
Happy Grilling!

I went to the website for the Big Boss Grill and way at the bottom when you fill out the order form it says that it is "Powered by BlueSwitch". I clicked on that link and this is the information that it gave me:
e.info@blueswitch.com
61 Broadway, Suite 2710
New York, NY 10006
Telephone #212-742-2270
Fax number 347-287-6916
May you should contact them about this and if they can't help you then get the police involved along with the Better Business Bureau for New York and report them. The sad part about this is that they used "Vicki Lawrence" as a spoke person so you would think that this would be legit. Good luck everyone who ordered this equipment. I think everyone would have better luck order ithe Xpress Grill instead.
where are the 69 reviews???? I don't see any from anyone who has tried it.
Dissapointing to say the least. I tried to email, but emails don't go through to them. Finally, after a month we got it. I tried it tonight and the first batch of quick bread was awesome. One big problem....the machine died after that batch. We've unplugged it and let it cool down and we've tried different outlets. The thing seems to be dead. I'm going to try contacting them tomorrow. We'll see if that gets anywhere....By the way their customer service# (only located on the back of their manual apparently) 800-423-4248. Good luck to anyone else out there with orders into these guys.
dont worry about trying to contact the company that you bought the product through, just contact your Credit Card Company and dispute the item charged on your CC. Get a refund for a purchase that has never been delivered. Stop wasting your time and dispute the charge before 90 days is up or lose your money.
i ordered the grill online, i recieved it with no problem.
then some company called me and as a thank you i could join some budget club and i did not request this. so be careful when and if ordering. this is the first time i had a problem with something like this. the guy was a real fast talker, and he was getting rude when i was questioning him.
is the bbg sending even credit card info to this company?
DO NOT ORDER THIS GRILL.....SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF GRIEF! I was suckered in by the infomercial and received the product 4 weeks later. They charged a $29.99 handling fee which was NOT mentioned when I ordered. The grill lasted 2 days and quit working. I returned it, and was only refunded a small portion because they do not refund the processing, handling, mailing, etc fees. This product is a joke.....avoid it. I wish I would have.
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER THIS GRILL!!!!!!! I have been waiting on mine for over a month and still nothing.
*After I placed the order I received an e-mail saying it had been shipped with a tracking number. When I went online to track it with UPS it said shipping information (only)had been received. No package had been provided to UPS. Only information had been.
*I called the company and after a fair amount of grief they said they would send me ANOTHER one.
*I just called back today, a full month after I ordered it and they said the replacement still hasn't been shipped. When I started pressing the very obnoxious customer service representative about the issues he started blaming UPS!!!! He said it was their fault because they couldn't pick it up due to wild fires!!!!!! Are you kidding me??????
*Here is my favorite part. I told them to cancel my order and refund my credit card and he said he couldn't refund it until 14 days after shipping!!!!!!!
This is a huge scam and please warn everyone in anyway you can about this company!
I agree with every comment here. I also ordered the grill on line 4 weeks ago, and still haven't recieved it. The first time I called, they told me it was on it's way & check the UPS website to track it. I waited another week and called back. I was given a phone # for UPS. I called & they said they haven't even recieved the paskage for delivery. I called back and was told they would ship out another grill since they don't know what happened to the first. I will wait a week and than contact my credit card & ask for a refund.
im nover get my big bass grill let me on wint going on ml pomier
I ordered two by mistake. How do I return one and get a refund for it. Thank you. lecamp@comcast.net
Save yourself the trouble my neighbor suffered and head over to BJ's because for $90 you can get Cuisinart's "Griddler Gourmet" with temperature settings. I picked up this grill for myself a 2 weeks ago and it gets used nearly every day! Avoid the gimmicks, the outrageous shipping and handling fees, and a crappy product. People, stay away from infomercials and the products they peddle because there is ALWAYS a catch and never anyone to blame or get even with. Check out this grill at http://www.cuisinart.com/products/grills/gr-4n.htm and then head over to BJ's. If you don't like it, BJs will take it back - no questions asked!
Happy Grilling!
-Puigman
This product is horrible.
Received it in about 6 weeks.
At the begining everything was good, But wen I tried to make waffles, if just got stuck onto the removable plate and had to scrape it off (just like shown on the show)
too late now because it isnt worth refunding
DON'T BUY THIS! First, A part of our product was damaged even inside the styrofoam, so it must have been dropped or something before shipping. The plates are thin and cheap. I went to Target and picked up the plates from a Sunbeam grill and they were nicer! Sunbeam is not a high class brand, so I was surprised to see that their grill was better than the Big Boss Grill. Our grill barely got hot (I waited 15 minutes and still had a hard time cooking french toast), and didn't have any good feature other than the removable plates.
For the same amount of money we went to Kohl's and got the Food Network indoor grill. It has a larger cooking surface, same warranty, MUCH high quality in all parts, an adjustable lid to cook large items, adjustable temps, on/off switch, removable plates for griddle, grill, and waffle (who really NEEDS the doughnuts? I made them and they tasted really crappy.) The Food Network grill cost us $99 (Retails at about $140)and we are SO MUCH HAPPIER!
PLEASE DO SOME RESEARCH. Look for the Cuisinart or the Food Network grills. They get the best reviews, but people say the Cuisinart one is overpriced.
Dont buy this. Use a pan. You probably already have one in your kitchen.
Got this as a gift this Christmas and it broke after one use. Going to try and return it,but it sounds like it's not worth the effort.
Im so glad i came to this site. I almost bought the big boss grill. And you're right, they don't tell you the shipping price and that is false advertising. But i will take the advice of the commenter saying buy the Cuisinart's "Griddler Gourmet. Sorry you all went through this bad experience. maybe you should report them to the better business bureau and make them go out of business. Especially since the product dies like so many of you are saying. Best to you all and thank you.
So glad I read these comments before ordering. Now I definitely will NOT order this grill and will keep using what I already have.....the George Foreman grill which I love and my very old waffle/pancake maker. Should have known it was too good to be true.
Thanks to all of those who posted their reviews and sorry it turned out to be bad. But like someone posted earlier, dispute the charges with your credit card company and definitely report them to the BBB.
Glad I saw these comments. Now I feel relieved that it was not only me who got scammed by Emson company selling this horrible product. Mine lasted two days, the donuts are really bad, they are actually made from the very same batter as pancakes and waffles, the plates are crappy, the whole product is cheap and unbelievably poor quality. The one I got just fell apart, the screws got loose after two uses. Do not buy this thing!
Thanks for all your comments, I was ready to call their 800 number. Better to go to Brandsmart, even on Ebay you can get a better product.
I can appreciate all of the comments. I just finished watching the infomercial and got hooked into wanting to buy. Fortunately for me I Googled Big Boss Grill instead of going directly to the website and I saw this page with these reviews and comments. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for saving me the headache and frustration. I really hope that those of you who had a misfortune with this product will be able to recover from it somehow some way. I'm now going to search for the Cuisinart Griddle Gourmet or the Food Network grill.
Almost ordered one. Thank you for saving me from a lot of headaches. Sorry for all of you that went through the headaches.
Saved me a lot of agony going through what y'all did. Hopefully knowing you stopped them getting a lot more sales by your posts here will be some small comfort to you.
Don't waste your time on it. When I received mine, it is smaller then what I was expecting. After having it a week and only using it maybe 5 times, the indicator lights went from the out from the moisture and the whole thing stopped working.
Oh my...Ms. Vickie Lawrence almost suckered me into buying this thing. Sad how she endorses this piece of junk judging by these reviews. Thank you for posting everyone!
I've just ordered two of these. Hopefully my experiences will be like the many 1000s of satisfied rather than the dozens of misfortunes reported here. In part I ordered because of the reputation of Vickie Lawrence. In part because of the number of comments about the Redi Set Go Express cooker, which numbered about 10 to 1 (RSGo to Big Boss).
In any case, I'll try to remember to report back on when the unit arrives, and then an additional followup on my satisfaction level.
My purpose for buying: One for myself => to prepare quick grab-and-go breakfasts a few days in advance, and another as a gift for some/anyone.
Peace be with you all.
Thank you for all those who took the time to post their experiences. I was considering it and consider myself lucky to have found this blog. They are so glitzy with the infomercials and more often than not it's a hunka junk.
Thanks for saving the rest of us time, money and grief!
I thought the same about Vicki Lawrence. What a dis-service to her. I received my unit, used it the following day, and got up to use it again today. The unit does not work. I initially ordered online with no problem, then some guy calls and tries to sell me something (?). Told him to cancel and he got smart with me. I then called BBG to find out the status of my order - hoping - it was cancelled - but it was on the way. I packed mine up toda since I have sent 2 emails and both came back as undelieverable and phone calls to the company state they are open 8-5, M-F. I am sending mine back tomorrow as soon as I can get this thing out of the door.
Dittos Toni!! I am grateful for blog sites like this that help folks to make better decisions about buying 'cool stuff'.
Thank you so much for reviewing this product. I almost bought it but now won't thanks to your comments. People that steal your hard earned money to sell below quality products should be fined severely. How would they like it if they were the ones being scammed. Thanks again for the reviews. I'm going shopping for quality for my money!
I dont know what these people are talking about... i got mine in under 2 weeks and its awesome... 40 dollars free gas vouchers too, id recommend it. thanks
To Roze:
That is NOT false advertising. They did not lie about there shipping prices, they just left it out.
As promised, I am reporting back.
My experience has been quite good. I received both units two days ago -- total wait time was 5 days. This was based on normal delivery options. So the reports of endless wait times did not occur. (actually I didn't expect any problems, but problems do arise from time to time during order fulfillments so you have to expect that is random and could bite you anytime you use the internet).
As for using the unit right out of the box ... I have had no problems. I've made three types of sandwiches: hot PB & J (very very good), leftover mac & cheeze (don't ask) and egg sandwiches. All three times the unit performed perfectly.
Lastly, I'll state for those who may consider this unit after reading each of the events posted here, please read your operating guide. There are some very clear instructions that tell you how NOT to burn up your unit. You should take time to read the first page or two of that guide because it tells you how to season your unit and to prepare for cooking. I found this information instructive.
The one thing that bothered me about this purchase was the phone call I received to allegedly "confirm my address" just a day or two before the unit arrived. I took a fast pitch involving two independent "free coupon" programs seemed to be bundled together in a well rehearsed delivery of information that I found myself gripping with all my might on the opening reference to "for only a dollar charged to your credit card". You might anticipate this call and be listening very carefully, as I think their point was to "continue with a monthly coupon program" until you cancel.
Good luck to all.
Thsnks so much for the reviews. I almost ordered it. Luckily I saw this site before ordering. I will NOT order it!
Yeah I also dont get it I ordered mine and I love it so much...
My big boss grill came in one week and so far I LOVE it!! Perfectly cooked omelette in 5mins yesturday, amazingly good waffles in 5 mins this morning. Just hoping it doesn't dye like the other peoples have!!
Wow! So many complaints. I'm very happy with my Big Boss Grill. Shipping time was normal and the machine works great so far.The grilled chicken breasts marinated in cesar dressing) with Italian seasoning turned out perfect. I love the fact that it was done in 7 minutes. Will be back if the grill suddenly stops working.
Bed, Bath and Beyond sells it cheaper. If you still want to try it, get it from there, use their 20% off coupon to save even more money. No shipping and handling fees. Then if it breaks or you don't like it, you can return to BBB for a full refund.
How interesting! i saw the Big Boss Commercial the first time yesterday (3/7) and thought it might be something I would like. Today I checked Google and found this site. I think I will shop around locally after reading all the submissions. What I noticed is that from 5 weeks ago back to seven months ago all blogs were complaints; quality, ahipping, and customer service, all bad. But in the last 4 weeks all is great! Something happened to the product and company. New management? Better quality control? Who knows? But I am still wary of this product, no sucker I!
Purchased my from BB&B the other day using their 20% off coupon - $50 bucks out the door, no calls trying to upsell. So far so good, cooked a 1/3 burger no problem, made some omelettes this morning and grilled some hotdogs in the afternoon for my son. Looking to try some new recipes in the next few days and really put this thing through the paces, and if needed I'll bring it back - but for now it's a keeper...
I bought one two days ago at BB%B with a coupon..haven't tried it yet.
My mother bought the Big Boss Grill for me, after using it once, it no longer works. I don't have anyone to contact on this and I lost my mother almost three months ago and have no paperwork on how it was bought or where to sent it if it does not work.
I would not advise anyone to get the Redi Set Go grill. I did and was very disappointed. You can get quite a bad burn from the handles, the non stick coating on the bottom of the unit bubbled and pealed as if someone took a blow tourch to it after a month of service, and the removable plates lost their non-stickieness real quick. I love the idea of the multi-use grill and was so disappointed in the cheap way this one was produced. Also, I got cought up with this same kind of pressure to get the $1.00 coupons or memberships. Once they get you on the phone it can be hard to get them to listen, so just hang up. They'll just push a button and go on to the next one.
Maybe I'll try the Food Network or the Cuisnart next. Or maybe I'll check out the Big Boss from BB&B. That sounds like a good deal. If it doesn't work it will be no hassel to take it back.
always looks good on tv. however, after reading all the blogs posted here i will NOT buy this grill. i am a bit skeptical about docdwight 's 2 posts. how do you know there are 1,000's of satisfied customers? just where are these peoples blogs? as i see it, there is nothing preventing company representatives from posting great reviews of their product in order to fool people into buying.
ty Ms. May & George C King for posting your comments. i did the same thing. i only wonder now if Vicki Lawrence ever got paid for her contribution.
thank you for saving money for me and so many others. I was going to order and then thought maybe I had better check it out. so happy that all of you reported the truth.
So glad I found these reviews before I ordered it. Thank you all very much
Personally, whenever I see something interesting on an infomercial,I start researching and shopping elsewhere. In this case,I went to bed, bath, and beyond. If they dont have it,they'll ship it to you,and the cost is only 51 dollars with coupon and free shipping. It takes less than 1 week from ups.
I don't buy gadgets anymore from the infomercial websites. They neglect to inform you of the expensive shipping charges. And if you think you are getting anything extra for "free" just look at those shipping rates. Chances are you will have paid for the 'free" item twice over. Most items will become available at a local discount store or Amazon, Ebay, etc. There are no hidden handling fees and you know what your getting. I will go to BB&B to purchase this and try it right away. They have good customer service!
I have to differ with many of these comments--I ordered mine on-line--received it within a week--& love it.I's perfect for singles & couples--quick,clean,great cooking. The first time I made a Western omelet from the cook book. I carefully read all the instruction pages for use first--it really is easy and complete. My omelet was perfect far surpassing all I've made before & cooked perfectly & uniformly in just 6 minutes.(Mine did overflow a bit at the back but that was my fault for I had added a little more than the recipe called for) I did learn to follow their recipes exactly--I'm doing hamburgers tomorrow & will definitely read & follow the recipe exactly--I'm sure they will be delicious. By the way, it was nothing to clean up the overflow on the grill--just used a warm damp cloth! I've tried loads of the TV offerings but this is the first one I really am thrilled with. The lack of mess & the incredible brief cooking time is a winner for me BUT you do have to read & follow the very clear instructions! Happy grilling!
Was just about to order it than I saw all the bad reviews. Just sad for all the folks that have Delta with such poor service. So I did local search and I will buy mine at BED BATH & BEYOND,if the product fails I can return it. Thank you all for you're reviews!
I ordered my BBG March 1st,2010..It arrived in a box broken, on March 28th It just had plastic bag wrapped around it..No styrafoam, I had to pay another 25.00 to send it back and I am still waiting to get the new one. I so wished I had read this site first. I will be very angry if the stupid thing breaks after using it a few times. I thiank we should all write Vickie Lawerence and let her know how bad the grill is and how they scam the people. I do plan on filing a claim with the BBB soon. No company should make you pay to send their product back if it is defectice. I think they must make money on the shipping cost. I so wish I had been sleeping at 0300 instead of watching that infomercial....
This people should be made to pay for their scam.
I didn't want to order from TV so I went to the Kitchen Collection and bought it for less than $50. So far so good, you have to spray it with Pam for the waffles (remember to spray both plates) and it works perfectly. It's not the highest quality machine in the world but what do you want for a little over $40? It does the trick and we have it on our travel trailer. Made yummy waffles last weekend and it was perfect.
i had bought the grill at fleet farm and its great i love it. cooks the food very fast and it taste great.
i bought the grill like 5 months ago. i like the grill is really good nothing sticks and its not messy at all. the only problem was that when i received it it was kind of damange i returned it like 3 months ago and until this day i havent received anything besides they keep charging my credit card th payments when i dont even have the girll
I ordered a week ago, received today, according to what they said and made mini donuts tonight - they are delicious.
Making waffles in the morning. I think it is worth the $40 and I definitely feel you have to read the manual.
Rita
PS Neesee -would you share your waffle recipe or did you use theirs?
Thanks,
6 weeks later I got mine. Looks like alot of fun and I hope it works well. I had the original on my boat for years and loved it
I recently bought mine at Fry's Electronis Store. $39.00 I have used it 3 times. Made two omelettes, which were pretty good. One of them was made the previous nite and then I heated the omelette in the microwave for a minute. So not bad. Never was good at making omelettes in a fryin pan. I also made the chocolate and bananna bread. Yummie. Next I think I am going to do one of the dounut receipies and then roll them in powdered sugar.
I do hope mine does not break soon but if it does I am not out that much and if I enjoyed this one, then at that time I might buy a different brand that is not so cheaply made.
My mom bought one and has let me use it. I've made her waffles every morning for breakfast. Turned out great. I've grilled chicken. Was fast and turned out great. I'm trying the omelet pan next. I don't know if the person who commented that their waffles stuck to the pan had used cooking spray on it first or not, but mine have never stuck to the pan because I used cooking spray first. I don't think I would have paid $60 for this appliance myself but it's fun to use when someone else has spent their $60 to get it.
I think I'll buy it and try it out. I like the idea of a place to hold all the plates for the Unit and also I'm not a fan of the Cuisinart Griddler at all.
I love the idea that you can do many kinds of foods in it and also the plates are dishwasher safe.
What I won't do is order it online after reading this online review thread.
I ordered this grill about 3 months ago, took 1 month to receive it, after receiving it the entire bottom was broken off. I tried to contact someone to replace the item, of course it took another month to contact anyone, when I finally did, they told me that it was past 30 days from the original order date, I could not get my money back, but I could send it back, AT MY OWN EXPENSE, and they would send me another, AT MY OWN EXPENSE, but the item was on back order, it could take up to 6 months. I reported this to the BBB and am currently waiting for results. BUYER BE WARE, I NEVER EVEN GOT TO USE MY BIG BOSS GRILL AND STILL PAID MORE THAN $100.
I am glad I stumbled on this sight, I watched the infomercial and really wanted to order it but for my hubby that insisted I should order it for now. So to convince him to let me I the it to read of the reviews and eventually got directed to this site from another website. I am so glad I never did, because it would have been a real pain and quarrel with my hubby for wasting his hard earned money. I will surely look for other options in stores that i can return with no questions asked if I don't like it. My heart goes out to all who bought and pass through all these stress simply because one want to eat healthy and quicker.
Bought this at As Seen on TV. There was no recipe book nor Warranty in the box. Tried it the first time today. Everything stuck, even with a coating of PAM, and the smell of burning plastic turned our stomachs. Maybe good for dieters as the smell and mess turn you off eating.
I think the corners the manufacturer took ruined what could have been a good design.
I bought this yesterday from Bed Bath and Beyond. I used the 20% coupon and walked out the door paying about $40. Made some grilled Salmon with it for dinner and the next day used it for omelettes. No problems for far, I'm going to try and use the rest of the plates and try out the all the receipes in the book.
Walgreen's has the Big Boss Grill advertised in this week's sale circular for $59.99. At least, there is no shipping charges and you can see what you are getting. Sounds like BB&B still has the better deal with the 20% off coupon, however, I think I will not purchase one anywhere because of the unsatisfactory reviews shown. So glad I found this site before I made a decision to buy.
This is a junky product with a junky company. I had to beg for my credit, it took me a month after they had my return to get my money back. I am still begging for my shipping cost to be refunded.
I have had this grill for a few months and have had no problems with it at all. The omelets turn out great, if you don't add too much extra stuff! The donuts are good, and I just used it for chicken breasts which were really good, too. You just have to follow the directions pretty closely, I guess.
I saw the infomercial with my son. We were sold immediately and purchased. Once my credit card was processed I then checked the webpage for reviews and my heart sank as there were many horrible reviews. However the last few months of reviews had been very good. There was hope around the corner. Had I read them first I would not have ordered this item. Alas, we had done and were hoping for delivery before Fathers day. That was nearly 4 weeks ago. I am thrilled to let everyone know that our BBG arrived last week. It arrived in good shape as I ordered two. One for my sister too. My husband opened it a day early, we've already tried the waffle iron as well as omellettes. We are thrilled with both so far and can not wait until to try the other recipes. My only question is what dough to use for the pockets and stuff. If anyone has any suggestions please post it. Thank you and happy grilling.
I live in the Midwest and I simply purchased mine at Walgreens and it came with all the "extra" plates as an "added bonus." The only thing I didn't get was the free chopper but who cares - I already have one anyway. It was $59.99.
For three payments of $19.95 you also get the chopper online. The product is not as durable as the George Formean Grill but, for less that half the price, who cares. I found this review about the grill.
I was just watching this and wanted to buy it. But I always google the product reviews to see if it really works. Im so glad I came across this site! I also saw an info about the Tasti wave tonight and googled that. It also had bad reviews. Everything I have googled on t.v. has had bad reviews :( . I am going to BBB to purchase this product. I am sorry for all of you who have heartache over the lack of care from this company :( Bless you all!
Bought this about three months ago. All was good and yestedday it broke will no longer heat up at all no lights etc. Just plain broke I guess there is no warranty. Don't buy this like this go to a store and get a grill
bought this grill was delivered in about 8 days used 1 day for 1 meal grease leaked in bottom and it caught fire good thing i was in kitchen..im returning it now charcoal and all....
if u purchased w/card u need to cancrl card or u will be out a lot of funds....just cancel card and get new one.....just a word of advice to all
WOW....glad I saw this site. I was going to order it, but then wondered about where the grease would go when doing burgers, etc. I have a small George Forman grill I received as a wedding gift and the grease goes into a dish at the bottom of the grill. I was still impressed with being able to take out the plates for easier washing. However, after reading the reviews, guess it's just not worth it, even if you do buy it in a store. Remember folks, even movie stars will say anything to get a paycheck....they don't have to believe in the product.
Lucky for me, I am an employee of Bestbuy. We have a small section of As Seen on TV products. I paid $32.12 for this product with tax using my employee discount. So far I have made one cheese sandwich, and I must say my panini sandwich machine does better (and takes 2 minutes). I did not read the reviews before I bought and wish I had, but hey I did get it for around $32.
Hi!
I just bought mine at K-Mart for 39.99 and I love it! I made low carb donuts in it and they came out in 5 mins. Can't wait to try the other plates.
I bought the Big Boss grill and like most of you I do like it, HOWEVER there is a difference in the taste of steaks and hamburgers opposed to the Foreman grills possably due to the Big Boss being totally enclosed when shut opposed to the other one being open and letting the fats escape. One great point it is a lot easier to clean.
This is the worst product and company ever.I bought my grill at Bed Bath and Beyond. The first time i used it the screw fell out. I called the company and they said they would send me a new one. After waiting two months I called them. They had no info that i even had called and now they want me to send it back at my expense. The grill was hard to clean and not well made at all. As for the company, I will make sure I don't buy anything made from this company again
Wow people they sell this grill at sears, best buy and many other stores I would rather drive to the store and buy it they are only 49.99 at the store?? Not sure how well it works tho.
Product likes and dislikes aside, I'd like to pose a couple of questions to those who are encouraging folks to simply "Dispute it with your credit card and get the refund that way".
Question 1: Why should your credit card company take the loss for a manufacturers defective product?
Question 2: Who do you think your credit card company passes those losses onto by way of larger fees and APRs?
By the way, simply telling your credit card company that you didn't receive the product most likely won't work. In these economic times I can assure you that a significant number of credit issuing banks are no longer accepting a sob story at face value. They have teams of investigators who will most likely ask you for proof that you have tried to resolve this issue in good faith. Your best bet, if you do indeed need to resolve this through your credit card, is to keep scrupulous notes regarding each contact with the manufacturer/merchant. You'll need to provide: who you talked to (name and employee ID); what date; what they stated; any shipping/tracking or confirmation numbers they gave you, etc, etc.
Buyer beware has always been a good rule to follow. I believe that is more important now than ever.
warning don't buy the Big Boss Grill I did
and it is a piece of junk i used it for over 30 day's it work fine was real please after 30 day's it won't work any more only reason I bought because of Vicky Lawrence
i thought you could trust her and you can't
she ought to be ashamed of her self for representing
a scram company don't buy this product if you do just throw out the door it a piece of junk
I just purchased mine for $49.99 from Walgreens Pharmacy. No shipping, no hidden anything! I haven't used it yet but at least I know if something messes up I will take it and exchange it or get a refund instant.... so we will see. I will make sure to come back and give a full review of the product.
Aww, I had watched the infomercial a few times over the last while and I was just about to order. I thought I would read up about it first and thank goodness I did! I'm sorry to hear so many of you have had these problems, but I will take your advice and NOT purchase the Big Boss Grill. Thanks everyone for your reviews, and shame on them for their horrible service!
Ok guys, this one time I bought this grill for my friend Hammy Spoolkineminem though and he said this grill showed up worse than frozen balls, and cause he made the recipe wrong he pooped em just to let you know not to eat the non stick.
I agree, what turned me off to this particular tv promo item thing was niether Joyce Dewitt or whatever the Momma Lady house is caleld but not Martin Lawerence from big momma's house. This item was worse than frozen balls compared to my Ronco Rotisseree grill thing because this particular boss grill didn't come with it's own rest position.
My first part 6 question of my 2 part thing is who else's big boss grill didn't come with its very own rest position thing?
Another thing I noticed is that it did not come with its very own Le Grill setting, cause my friend Kurtis Macfinninyginny asked hey friend guy, whos a friend, what would you like for dinner, and I said anything you can Le Grill, and so he said sorry you are not allowed to have anything that is Le Grilled, and I went ahead and told him that I never miss my Le Grill schedual, and he said you are going to miss this one.
So thats my sad story.
Thank you so much for all your comments, I will definitely not be sucked into this scam.
I love Jim's comment (~8 months ago) ... says it all... gimmicks gimmicks gimmicks.
I fell for the TV ad and bought the Big Boss Grill in the Autumn of 2009 - to take with me in the RV. I used it steadily for making my own waffles, omelets and burgers for three months solid. I put it away until this Autumn and packed it in my shipped stuff and moved to California. I am now the "leader of the kitchen" here in the assisted living home - My BBG is getting more use now than ever - waffles, omelets and burgers for everybody. I must have gotten the only one that ever worked! Maybe this was Vicky's own grill from the TV Infomercial! Anyway - that cheap recipe book just slipped away somewhere along the line - and, like everybody says, BBG's customer service sucks! Can't even beg for a replacement recipe book... What's this BBG Hero gonna do??
i bought this grill, and almost ALL the recipes call for pastry dough or someother dough. i wanted to use bread and tortilla. this grill is awful .i paid 65 for it. and have only used it for eggs. i tried cooking some meat but the grease overflowed...
Just got one yesterday and i just got done using it for the first time, and threw a 4oz burger on it, after 5 minutes both lights wen't off, and that's a wrap!
Just bought one of these suckers at my local Kitchen Collection for $40. I've used it several times and just love it! If you throw a huge piece of fatty meat on it be prepared for a huge mess. When you add stuff make it a TABLESPOON or it will over flow. I found that when making an omlet it's best to compost one of those egg yolks and you can add more goodies to the eggs. This is the most fun I've had in a long time! This is only for 1-2 people not a big family. If you put too much stff you WILL make a mess. Start s-l-o-w and NEVER order anything from an infomerical......foolish. There is always another way to get it. I always start with overstock, then go to walmart wedsite. If I can't get it there E-bay is better than an info!
Do not guy this grill! you will end up paying over $100 for it end it doesn't work. Shame to wikki Lawrence.
Do NOT buy this. I bought one this summer and paid 19.95 for three times plus $15 shipping. But I still had to pay the Post office when I pick it up, it was another $30 !!! I have tried it once and never want to use it again! They send me the useless cookbooks every month and charge my credit card for $8.95 per month. I can't even cancel the offer!!!
sara & ali ia a cute couple
I found it for cheaper then tv and I know that they ship with in the week
Ordered this on line @ Bed Bath and Beyond (the sales person will do it for you). They will take the 20% coupon. It was $49.99. used the coupon..along with shipping came to $50.79.
Thank you Thank you Thank you
I was on the phone giving my information when my daughter came to this website and saw all the bad reviews. I then cancelled my order. Beware the infomercial is very convincing, but from the reviews u can tell its a scam.
Do NOT even think to buy this!!! As of the first day I made my waffle, the batter came out of the sides of the grill and made a lot of mess.
When I ask for the return they said I should pay for the return!!!
This is a BIG scam
We decided not to order it, instead we bought it at our local Walmart and have not noticed (yet) a single thing wrong with it so far. I always try to buy the "as seen on tv" products at the Walmart, or in our malls we have the "as seen on tv" store. That way, if the product DOES malfunction it is far easier to return and get your money back or get a new product vs the hassle of ordering it online or by phone.
This item is really called XPRESS Ready Set Go. Look up this infomercial and you should be able to resolve your problems. Good Luck.
I received a Big Boss Grill for Christmas, and so far I am really enjoying it. The grilled sandwiches turn out perfectly, and the little apple donuts were a big hit. My only failure was a steak. There isn't really any place for the grease to go to and it leaked under the grill plate. I plan on using it lots more often.
Well,I love the BIG BOSS GRILL,is an excelent machine! I first wanteded for the waffle maker, but I start making donuts(use a teaspoon ) and other great foods.I bought mine from the Mall.I got warantie for 3 years. So I love it .Try it!
This piece of junk worked fine one time, and then it was done! It's amazing the harassment you get when you buy this off the infomercial. Vicki Lawrence ought to be ashamed.
I am trying to cancel having the cookbooks delivered to my home but can not find a phone number anywhere. The grill only worked a few times. If anyone knows a phone number please e-mail me at wendyjohnston311@hotmail.com.
I just received my Big Boss Grill and I love it! I made 2 grilled cheese sandwiches in 3 minutes and they turned out perfect! I can't wait to try the donuts or muffins! I ordered mine from eBay for $34.95 with free shipping so I believe I got a great deal. I even received the Big Boss Little Chopper like the TV version! It took a little over a week to be delivered via UPS. I have to say I very carefully read the directions as I do not want to burn up my unit as some others have done. There was a note with mine that said Do Not Return to Store Call Customer Service at 1-800-423-4248 for those of you who are having problems.
2 days ago I made a comment that I was looking for a number to cancel my cookbook order and GUESS WHAT .... I opened my e-mail and found that they ordered me a grill and nothing about a cancellation number. Boy is my credit card company going to have fun with them. Making a purchase without my authorization.
I order mine and i got it within a few days everything looked, good and we used it twice and then it die. No matter what i do it wont work. I try calling the number on the webside and all i get is the all the reps. are busy at the moment to please wait. I paid 59.00 dollar after averything including the litter food prosesor. So i really paid 59.00 for the free food prosesor.
esor
Really was thinking about ordering BUT if it dies out easy I think I will pass , with a family of seven, we need good sturdy products !
Bought this a few weeks ago. I have a few complaints on it. The clips that hold the plates in place are cheap. They easily bend which then makes it hard to remove the plate.
It is also missing the recipe book.
What gets me is I seen a commercial for this tonight. I do not have a big boss grill, what I bought is called the grand slam made by bellini. Other than the logo and a slight cosmetic difference on the lid this unit is the exact same thing as the big boss grill.
i ordered the grill, I recieved it with no problem.
I also received a call from the company ??? Also received a call thanking me?? and pushing some budget club that I also not request. BE CAREFUL. The guy wouldn't give up and kept talking and pestering asking much too much credit card info. He was a real smooth Talker, and he was also was getting rude when I was questioning him.
The grill is really small especially for 2 adults. I tried to cancel with no luck.
Now I am stuck.
Thanks to all of you for your input; confirms for me that if you can't squeeze it, pinch it, smell it, or try it on, you're most likely wasting hard earned money.
P.S. When I called to inquire, the $39.95 advertised price came to $97.70.
I have had my Big Boss Grill for about 6 months, and I LOVE it. If you "season" the plates as instructed, there is no sticking. I love cooking thick steak straight from the freezer in just 1/2 hour, tops. However, for another $30 I could have purchased one that has similar accessory plates that also has built in drip trays. I haven't figured out a neat way to pour the grease out, though the grill does keep the meat above it.
Bought it. Will return it. Phoned the number to find out what kind of non-stick coating was used on the plates. The kindly gentleman Charlie at the call centre in CT said he did not have that information. The infomercial says the plates can be put in the dishwasher. Since when do we put non-stick products OR aluminum in the dishwasher? Nah, I am going to return it; especially when the guide says to not worry about the unpleasant fumes the plates release whilst heating up for the first time.......EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW! times how many plates???? What was I thinking????
I ordered mine and recieved it in 5 business days!! Use it everyday and LOVE IT!!!
Oh yes, I just love the two grills I bought for my kids.
One fills up with grease and the other went out just after the warranty was up.
I know what is wrong with it, but can't get any parts. Over $70.00 each for these pieces of ----.
I tried in vein to get a factory number or address. It is terrible when something doesn't last any longer than that. It used a sort of thermostat screwed up on the bottom of the bottom of the unit. This, I assume, opens and closes depending on how hot the grill gets. Well, the one on my son's stayed open permanently.
Just another great product advertised on tv.
Glad I could vent, becsuse it looks like that is all I will get for my expenditure of over #140.00 plus shipping.
Never again. I wish I could expose this product for what it is to the public. Not because of the product per se, but because noone wants to make it right.
Jack, who is just a little ------.
I ordered the Grill over 2 months ago. When I opened the box it did look a little flimsy. I went ahead and used it once to cook a hamburger. The little tray over-flowed with grease! I returned the unit within the 30 day time limit and now I am hassling with them to get my refund! Don't buy this..it's junk!
i just got mine from ebay. i spent 40, no shipping, and it came with a food processor.
i havent tried it yet..so ill let u kno!
i just tried mine,. i decided to try the banana muffins/.
at first everythin was goin fine. now,the dough won't cook.
i dont know what the fuss is all about. i ordered mine thru stoneberry. i got in about 5 working days like the comment above read the instructions, thats why there there. i spray lite pam & everything i tried came out the way they said. i reccomend it. its great for college students its quick & healthy
I ordered mine through Stoneberry, too. One of the first things I got among some of the other things I ordered from them. I used it out of the box, followed the directions and had great sandwiches. Only thing I'd say is don't go hog wild on the cheese, it will ooze out the side. Clean up was easy and I haven't had a problem with it since getting it 3 weeks ago. The kids love that they can get grilled hot dogs and don't have to wait till summer.
GLAD I READ THE REVIEWS FIRST, I WAS GOING TO BY ONE FOR MY WIFE SHE WOULD HAVE FLIPPED IF IT DIDNT WORK RIGHT, THANK YOU ALL FOR THE TRUTH.
I too was intrigued by the infomercial, and wondered if I could even order just the grill without the 'free' items. Just for fun, I checked their website. The three freebies cost a total of $58 in shipping and processing. This is in addition to the 25% shipping for the grill itself.
Personally, I have usually been disappointed by the products seen on tv. And rather than pay the shipping, I wait for them to be available at BB&B or at the kiosks in malls.
Great it is a little small but it is a great it is just me and wife and we could not live with out it you can cook a steak and it taste as good as off the grill. Good Luck
I am a firm believer to ALWAYS! ALWAYS! Read the buyers reviews before ordering ANYTHING on television. I'm so sorry that so many of you got taken by this product as well as many other infomercials. Buyers Beware. Also, I love the comment that "Carrie" said. I just called the Customer Service No. 866-879-3757 and I told the Rep. "Heather" that I was thinking of ordering this Big Boss Grill, I also mentioned to her, that I'm reading the reviews about this producft on line and every review was bad, very few were positive. She tried to convince me that all of these Grills were simply on 'BACK ORDER' and that if I ordered Now I'd have my Grill in 2 days, asking more questions of this rep. She also mentioned they've had no negative feedback, and I also asked was a month the normal delivery time? She said no, only 2 weeks. She continued to try and get me to order this grill, even though she had mentioned that they only had "39" more Grills left. I repeatedly told her NO!! that I trust the reviews and I'm not in the mood for hassles. People please read these reviews before purchasing products over the t.v. that's why they are here. If you can't trust the people who have actually spent their money and got taken, who can you trust. I Like the comments by "Carrie, Jean & Toni. If I can't take the product back to the store that I brought it from in person, then its not something that I'm going to spend my hard earned money on. I no longer buy items over the internet or t.v. I try and keep it Simple. Good Luck to those of you who are having problems getting your money back, oh and I also called that 800# its a joke, you get a recording directing you to call another 866 no.!!
I ordered the Big Boss Grill on March 9th 2011, my credit card was charged the very same day for $54.90, one day two months later in May 2011 Canada post knocked on my door with the bigboss pkg.... I was asked to pay an extra $22.00 In Cash!!!! Cash only!!! as per bigboss request!!!? i never agreed to pay any extra fees on delivery...my original payment included the price of the grill and shipping. The postman told me it was money they collect as requested by Bigboss grill (this extra cash goes to bigboss)...most people pay the fee because they think its something to do with duty fee or whatever... I refused to pay the $22 dollar cash on delivery and did not accept the delivery. The refund I just received from Bigboss is less than the amount they charged to my credit card, what a scam! I just gave them money for nothing :( I tried calling the 800 930-6230 and what a joke that is...an automated voice comes on and keeps repeating the same options, choose an option and get no where. Be careful ordering from this scam company...you can buy a grill for the same money and No Hassle... Save your time and piece of mind and dont deal with these people at Big Boss Grill, they are Not Honest people.
I have owned the BBG for several years and when I went to buy one for my daughter, the shipping was a lot higher then I expected so I tried to back out, but it took my order anyway. I call within minutes and was told to call the next day when it hit their system. When I called the next day, they said it had shipped and was too late to cancell, this was after they hanged up on me 4 times. I told them it hadn't shipped because it hadn't gone through my account but they refused to cancel the order. According to their email, it shipped three days later, just like I said. Their customer service skills are lacking and they don't give a buyers remorse time to cancel.
I will learn to always check for reviews online before buying something like the BBG. Worked one time. A very costly meal...............
On sale at JC Penney Outlet in St. Louis, MO for $18.88 -Dec 7 - 11th! Will try it out!

I would like to get mine to even try it out. I ordered it and it has been almost a month and it is still not here. I am beginning to think it is a scam. There were no phone numbers on website. When I email the place that said my order was received it comes back with a blocked error.
